Love what you do and do what you love. Passion is the key that opens the door to joy and abundance.
All our females we have raised since puppyhood. Some come from progeny we have produced here at Knallhart and other are from other outstanding breeders that withhold the same standards as we do. All our females have lineage of generations of properly health tested dogs that can be verified with both the American Kennel Club and the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals.
Our females have a maximum of 4 litters in their lifetime and then are spayed and made available for purchase into pet homes.
We do not cut any corners, any youth dogs that we raise that do not adhere to our standards of excellent health, temperament, and movement do not move into our breeding program. This does not make them any less of a dog, but we only consider the best for breeding. These dogs become available for pet homes as trained youth dogs.
The term “preservation breeder” is a commitment to produce dogs that are quality, happy, healthy, and long-lived. It is important to protect and preserve dog breeds for future generations, to use their amazing abilities to work for us and of course for companionship. This is the essence of preservation breeding.
Knallhart’s goal with our breeding program is to adhere to the American Kennel Clubs written standards (both in conformation and temperament), and produce healthy, sound, quality Newfoundlands.
All our dogs are health tested through Embark Screenings, Hips and Elbow Tested through the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals (OFA). Our Newfoundlands undergo additional testing and have their cardiacs and eyes certified. All our dogs compete in AKC sanctioned events.
Our specialization here at Knallhart are well-bred, purebred Newfoundlands
Our puppies we produce are with AKC standards in mind, so most puppies should be able to compete in AKC conformation and performance events.
